I was pretty sure that I was going to sell this romper in my shop and after looking at these pictures, it's been confirmed. I lot fit so much but it's just too big on me (it's a medium). So it's in the wash as I type this and is going to get photographed as soon as something else sells since I only have a certain number of items allowed in the shop. Any takers? Let me know!

Well, just enjoying the long weekend here in New York which means taking every chance we get when it's not raining to wander outside and pop in to cute little restaurants that we've been meaning to try here in the neighborhood for a glass of wine or two and some food. It's been pretty good so far and tomorrow might even bring a beach day. First one of the season! Let's all cross our fingers and our toes that the rain is done for good (at least gives us a one day break).

She must be Mad

I've been on a big "unclutter this house!" kick recently and the first thing I started doing was to get rid of some clothing and accessories that I no longer needed. I have so much stuff I want to get rid of, i decided to set up shop over at Big cartel.

So go ahead, and take a look. If you like something, buy it, then I can add more stuff!

Click the picture to be directed to the shop! Thanks for looking!

Kitchen Sink Cookies

It wasn't until I moved to New York that I heard about Kitchen Sink cookies. Maybe they're a new thing? but maybe I just never paid attention, which isn't true because I love cookies. I would've heard about them. They're basically a cookie that has a whole bunch of stuff inside them. Anyways, I've been meaning to recreate some of my own but was always unsatisfied with the recipes I found. What I did instead was tweak a tried and tested cookie recipe i've been making for years by adding and omitting a few ingredients. They came out so delicious that I'm happy I can share.

What you'll need:

3/4  cup flour
1/3  cup dry sweetener ( i used cane sugar)
1 1/3 cup rolled oat flakes
1 tbsp ground chia seed (optional)
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 mashed banana
1/3 canola oil
1/2 cup maple syrup
1/3 cup peanut butter (or other nut butter)
1 tbsp vanilla extract
1 tbsp ground flax seed, mixed with 2-3 tbsp water

Feel free to adjust/omit the following ingredients to your liking:
1/2 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup raisins
1/3 cup chopped walnuts
1/3 cup coconut flakes ( i used unsweetened)

What you do:

1. Preheat oven to 350F.

2. In a large bowl combine the flour, sweetener, oats, chia seed (if using), baking soda, baking powder, salt.

3. In a small bowl combine the banana, oil, maple syrup,  peanut butter and vanilla. Whisk or blend until smooth. Add the flax seed mixture.

4. Pour the wet mixture into the dry flour mixture and stir.

5. Add all other ingredients and stir until well incorporated. The mixture should be thick and sticky. If it is not sticking, I would add more peanut butter. If it's not thick, I would add more oats.

6. Spoon a heaping tablespoon of dough onto a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper and press it flat with your fingers.

7. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until edges are browned. Enjoy!

I'm just going to start this post by saying that American Apparel mirrors lie. Yes, they lie, even though you don't hear them. You see, I ventured into the store a few weekends ago after receiving a 20% friends & family card. I'm never one to pass up some great savings at a store I know I could use something. Anyways, I was looking for some shorts that would be appropriate for when I'm at the park wit Tuesday or some other baby/kid venue. And I walked out of there with these!! What the, what???Are you kidding me? When I tried them on at the store, they seemed perfectly fine. I did the walk up and down the aisle to make sure of it, all the while looking at my behind to make sure it was all in check. Well, there's no other explanation than, the mirrors lie.

Oh, and a huge frame just leaning up against a perfectly blank grey wall? Did someone say photoshoot?

Sunday Afternoon.

Sunday turned out to be one pretty productive day for Soner and I. We headed out to Carroll Gardens for him to get his hair cut by one of his friends and ex-barber, since he moved out of the city. They turned a little studio space into a barber shop with one chair, one mirror and few supplies. It was pretty cool actually. Everyone had to sign up for a slot to get in that day. We were the first ones there so I decided to take a few pictures.

Once done, we got a few terrarium supplies and met up with some friends to make them in the park. It was a really great day to be outside so it work doug quite well. Everyone was in charge of bringing their own glass container to fill, the rest of the supplies we shared. I found the smallest jars possible to make mine in. They were so easy!

Cuteness Overload

This past weekend, I was up in Ottawa, visiting my family. It was Maïa's baptism and since I'm one of the godmothers,{yes she has two}, it was the perfect time to make a trip.

I couldn't help but take a gazillion pictures of my nieces and nephew that by Saturday afternoon, my card was already full! Here are a few of my favorites, it's hard to not go overboard considering I have about 400 pictures saved.

All three of these little munchkins had me laughing all weekend long. It was a very short trip but I'll be seeing them again in two short months!
